Fourteen former Alabama A&M men’s basketball players are currently active in professional basketball leagues around the world.
Obie Trotter, who graduated from Alabama A&M in 2006 and was named All-SWAC Defensive Player of the Year that year, is playing in Iceland for Hottur Egilsstadir. In a recent game, Trotter contributed six points and three assists over 23 minutes to help his team defeat Thor AK 103-75. So far this season, he averages 8.2 points, 3.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game.
Jeremy Ingram, a 2013 graduate, plays in Croatia for Amphora. He scored 14 points with three assists in a win against Osijek in the Croatian Prva Hrvatska Kosarkaska Liga and is averaging 21.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals this season.
Garrett Hicks (2019-2023) is competing professionally in Germany with EPG Guardians Koblenz. In a recent loss to Artland Dragons, Hicks recorded two points and four assists across 24 minutes on the court; his season averages are eight points, 2.1 assists, and two rebounds per game.
Other alumni continuing their careers include William Tavares (Cimarrones del Choco/Colombia), Jaylen Colon (Yorkshire Dragons/UK), Nick West (Al-Muharraq/Bahrain), Quinterian McConico (TSA Kalev/Estonia), Andre Kennedy (Savannah Buccaneers/TBL), Cam Tucker (North Alabama War Dawgs/ABA), EJ Williams (North Alabama War Dawgs/ABA), Anthony Bryant (Supr Elite/SEBL), Desmond Jackson (Jersey Shore Breaks/TBL), Olisa Akonobi (Astros de Jalisco/Mexico), and Xavier Brewer (War Ready – Auburn Alumni/The Basketball Tournament).
