The Alabama A&M University women’s volleyball team will enter the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) tournament as the fifth seed following a four-way tie for fifth place in the conference standings. The Bulldogs, who finished the regular season with an 18-11 record, were tied with Southern, Florida A&M, and Texas Southern. Based on tiebreaker procedures, Alabama A&M secured the fifth seed.

In the quarterfinals, Alabama A&M is set to face fourth-seeded Bethune-Cookman. During the regular season, both teams won one match against each other: Alabama A&M claimed a 3-2 victory at home while Bethune-Cookman won 3-1 in Daytona Beach.

The SWAC tournament begins Friday at Florida A&M University’s Al Lawson Center. All matches will be available to watch on SWAC TV.

Prairie View A&M enters as the top seed after winning the SWAC regular season title and will play eighth-seeded Florida A&M in their opening quarterfinal match. The winner of this match will go on to face either Alabama A&M or Bethune-Cookman in Saturday’s semifinals.

On the other side of the bracket, Jackson State holds the second seed and will compete against seventh-seeded Southern. Third-seeded Alabama State is matched up with sixth-seeded Texas Southern. Winners from these games advance to meet in Saturday’s second semifinal, with the championship game scheduled for Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Central Time.
