The Alabama A&M University women’s bowling team concluded its regular season at the Music City Classic, held at Smyrna Lanes in Nashville on Mar. 9. The Bulldogs finished 28th overall with a record of four wins and nine losses during the weekend tournament.

The event saw Jacksonville State take first place with a perfect 13-0 record, while Sam Houston State and Vanderbilt finished second and third, respectively. Alabama A&M began the competition on Friday in the Baker format, securing an 839-828 victory over Aurora but dropping matches to Jackson State, Marian, Louisiana Tech, and Vanderbilt.

Saturday’s traditional play brought mixed results for the Bulldogs. After losing their first three matches to McKendree, Oklahoma Christian, and Arkansas State, they earned wins against Lewis (901-874) and Alabama State (920-871).

In Sunday’s bracket play, Alabama A&M lost to Lewis (4-1) and Carroll (4-0), but managed a come-from-behind win over Lewis with a score of 4-2.

Looking ahead, Alabama A&M will compete in the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference Bowling Championship from March 21 to March 23 in Dallas, Texas.
