The Alabama A&M University women’s bowling team finished 15th at the Bearcat Invitational held at St. Clair Lanes in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Over the weekend, the Bulldogs recorded one win and eleven losses.

The team competed against several ranked opponents, including No. 15 McKendree, No. 21 Valparaiso, No. 24 Oklahoma Christian, and No. 20 Wright State, as well as Marian, Jackson State, Central Missouri, Newman, Western Illinois, Maryville (ranked tenth), and Southern.

On Friday during the baker series games, Alabama A&M lost to McKendree (1,019-799), Marian (879-821), Jackson State (923-823), and Central Missouri (948-871). The team’s only victory came against No. 21 Valparaiso with a score of 849-820.

Saturday’s traditional series games saw Alabama A&M fall to Oklahoma Christian (985-923), Newman (973-848), Western Illinois (879-807), Wright State (957-823), and Maryville (966-883).

Megan Whorton posted the team’s highest individual game score of 217.

The Bulldogs ended the tournament with a bye match followed by a loss to Southern in the baker format by four games to two.

Alabama A&M is scheduled to compete next at the Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan, Louisiana from November 21 to 23.
