Coriah Beck and Moses Davenport led the Alabama A&M University women’s basketball team in scoring during a 66-43 loss to the University of Alabama on Monday night at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa. Beck finished with 11 points, all scored in the first half, along with four rebounds and three assists. Davenport contributed 10 points and three rebounds.

For Alabama, Jessica Timmons scored a team-high 13 points, including 11 in the first half, and added five rebounds and one assist. Essence Cody had 13 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Diana Collins also reached double figures with 10 points and provided three assists.

Alabama (4-0) started strong, building a 12-4 lead early in the first quarter. Alabama A&M responded with a brief run capped by a basket from Beck to narrow the gap to 14-10. By the end of the first period, Alabama led 20-12.

In the second quarter, Alabama extended its advantage after a three-point play by Cody made it 25-15. Beck hit a three-pointer to bring Alabama A&M within seven points at 25-18 before Alabama increased its lead to 36-24 at halftime.

Alabama A&M (1-3) struggled offensively in the third quarter, managing only one field goal in nearly five minutes as Jaida Belton scored to make it 41-26. The Crimson Tide closed out the period on an 8-3 run for a commanding 49-31 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs continued to have difficulty scoring in the final period as Alabama pulled away for the win.

According to game statistics, Alabama A&M shot 29.8 percent from the field (14-of-47) and made 81.3 percent of its free throws (13-of-16). The Bulldogs collected 29 rebounds—22 on defense—and produced 16 bench points along with seven points off turnovers forced against Alabama.

Alabama shot 45.5 percent from the floor (25-of-55) and secured a total of 37 rebounds. The Crimson Tide scored heavily inside with 40 points in the paint and capitalized on turnovers for an additional 20 points.

Next up for Alabama A&M is a road game against Nevada on Friday at Lawlor Events Center in Reno. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Central Time, with streaming available on Mountain West Network.
