Coach Tommy Tuberville, U.S. Senator from Alabama, recently addressed several national issues in a series of posts on his social media account.
On August 31, 2025, Tuberville highlighted the ongoing drug overdose crisis, writing, “The overdose epidemic is a CLEAR danger to the public. Driven by fentanyl, it has become the leading cause of death for adults 18-45. My prayers are with families mourning the loss of loved ones, and I urge all Alabamians to be vigilant against drug addiction and overdose.” The senator’s remarks reflect growing concern over rising drug fatalities across the United States.
On September 1, 2025, Tuberville made another post about Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell: “Today’s a great day to fire Jerome Powell.”
Later that same day, Tuberville shared a message marking Labor Day: “Today – and every day – we celebrate the hardworking Americans that make our country great. Happy Labor Day.”
Fentanyl-related overdoses have sharply increased in recent years and are recognized as a leading cause of death among American adults aged 18-45. Law enforcement agencies and public health officials have warned about the proliferation of synthetic opioids like fentanyl contributing to record numbers of overdose deaths nationwide.
Jerome Powell has served as Chair of the Federal Reserve since February 2018. The role oversees U.S. monetary policy during periods marked by inflation concerns and economic uncertainty.
Labor Day is a federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September to honor American workers and their contributions to society.
