Coach Tommy Tuberville, U.S. Senator from Alabama, shared a series of posts on September 15, 2025, addressing education and local industry milestones.
In his first post of the day, Tuberville emphasized the importance of literacy in education: “We must ensure our children are getting a strong education, and that starts with reading. Proud to join my colleagues in recognizing September as ‘National Literacy Month.'” This message aligns with ongoing national efforts to promote literacy among children and young adults across the United States each September.
Later that afternoon, Tuberville congratulated Airbus on its decade-long presence in Mobile, Alabama: “Congratulations to @Airbus for 10 great years in Mobile. Looking forward to many more to come.” The Airbus facility in Mobile has played a significant role in supporting the region’s economy through job creation and investment over the past ten years.
In another post on the same day, Tuberville criticized an unnamed professor at Enterprise for allegedly admitting to “indoctrinating my students in my liberal, progressive values.” He wrote: “This TAXPAYER-FUNDED Enterprise professor ADMITTED to ‘indoctrinating my students in my liberal, progressive values.’ It’s absolutely disgusting and has no place in Alabama. She should NEVER be allowed to teach in public education again.”
Tuberville’s comments regarding education reflect broader debates about academic freedom and curriculum content within public schools. National Literacy Month is observed every September as part of an initiative aimed at improving reading skills among Americans (https://www.readingrockets.org/calendar/national-literacy-month). The Airbus manufacturing plant has been operational since 2015 and remains a major employer in southern Alabama (https://www.airbus.com/en/newsroom/stories/2023-09-a-decade-of-success-airbus-in-mobile-alabama).
