Coach Tommy Tuberville, a U.S. Senator from Alabama and former college football coach, shared a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) account on July 17 and 18, 2025, addressing topics ranging from law enforcement to gender identity in sports and economic leadership.
On July 17, Tuberville posted about criminal justice, stating “If you do the crime, be prepared to do the time. Law and order is BACK. “. Later that evening, he commented on gender issues in sports by thanking broadcaster Sam Ponder for her stance and criticizing ESPN: “Thanks for your courage @samponder. Men are men and women are women. ESPN needs to wake up”.
The following day, Tuberville called for a change in leadership at the Federal Reserve with the post: “Today’s a great day to fire Jerome Powell.”
Tuberville has previously been vocal about law enforcement policies and conservative views on social issues since joining the Senate in 2021 after his coaching career at Auburn University. His criticism of Jerome Powell aligns with ongoing debates over monetary policy under Powell’s tenure as Federal Reserve Chair since 2018.
