Coach Tommy Tuberville, U.S. Senator from Alabama, published a series of statements on his social media account in mid-August 2025 addressing issues related to Washington, D.C., Federal Reserve leadership, and misinformation.

On August 17, 2025, Tuberville criticized Democratic management of the nation’s capital and praised presidential intervention. He stated: “For too long, our capital has been a WARZONE. Democrats have completely run it into the ground. Thank you, @POTUS, for taking control and rebuilding D.C. into the greatest city in the world.”

The following day, August 18, he called for changes at the Federal Reserve by posting: “Today’s a great day to fire Jerome Powell.” Jerome Powell is the current chair of the Federal Reserve Board.

Later that same day, Tuberville commented on information accuracy with a brief message: “MSinformation is more accurate. https://t.co/tWyyosA9hC”

Tuberville’s remarks come amid ongoing national discussions about urban safety in Washington D.C., as well as debates over economic policy under Jerome Powell’s leadership at the Federal Reserve—a role that has faced criticism and calls for change from some lawmakers over recent years. Additionally, issues surrounding misinformation continue to be central topics in American political discourse.
