Coach Tommy Tuberville, U.S. Senator from Alabama, posted a series of messages on his official Twitter account in September 2025 reflecting on the loss of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and commemorating the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
On September 10, 2025, Tuberville expressed support for Charlie Kirk by writing, “Praying for my friend, @charliekirk11. “
Later that same day, Tuberville paid tribute to Kirk’s life and legacy in a follow-up message: “Charlie Kirk was a true patriot who loved this country. I enjoyed going on his podcast, serving on boards together, and working side by side to advance the conservative movement.
My heart breaks for Erika, his two kids, and the Kirk family. Their world – and ours – will never be” (September 10, 2025).
On September 11, Tuberville marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks with a statement about its significance: “24 years ago, 3,000 innocent people – including ten Alabamians – lost their lives because of radical Islamic terrorism.
This kind of evil ideology has NO PLACE in America.
We will Never Forget.” (September 11, 2025).
Charlie Kirk was known as a prominent conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA. The events referenced by Tuberville occurred around the time marking twenty-four years since nearly three thousand people died during coordinated terrorist attacks on U.S. soil in 2001—a tragedy widely memorialized each year across the nation.
Tuberville’s remarks reflect ongoing conversations among political figures regarding national security and remembrance of significant public figures within American conservatism.
