Coach Tommy Tuberville, U.S. Senator from Alabama, posted a series of statements on his X (formerly Twitter) account between September 5 and 6, 2025, addressing topics ranging from national security to economic leadership.
On September 5, Tuberville referenced recent discussions with commentator Benny Johnson and expressed support for Secretary Kennedy, stating: “Like I told @BennyJohnson this week, you know you’re doing something right when you’ve upset the corrupt Deep State and Big Pharma. @SecKennedy is the MAHA CHAMPION our country needs, and he continues to have my FULL SUPPORT.”
Later that evening, Tuberville advocated for relocating the United States Space Command headquarters to Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. He wrote: “Moving @US_SpaceCom to its RIGHTFUL home at Redstone Arsenal is not only the best decision for our national defense, but it will also save taxpayers nearly HALF A BILLION dollars.” The proposal aligns with ongoing debates over the location of U.S. Space Command’s permanent headquarters and its potential financial implications.
On September 6, Tuberville commented on Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s leadership by posting: “Today’s a great day to fire Jerome Powell.” This statement comes amid continuing scrutiny of Federal Reserve policies during periods of economic uncertainty.
Tuberville has been an advocate for moving federal agencies to Alabama and has consistently voiced support for reducing government spending. His recent comments about Secretary Kennedy refer to a political figure who has garnered attention within certain segments of the electorate.
The discussion over U.S. Space Command’s location has persisted since its reestablishment in 2019. Proponents argue that relocating the command could enhance operational effectiveness and generate significant cost savings for taxpayers.
