Alabama A&M University senior Jaida Belton has been nominated for the Sixth Woman Award by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and the SWAC Game ChangeHer Awards Committee.

Belton, a forward/center, joined Alabama A&M this season after playing three seasons at Texas Southern. She has scored 802 career points and is set to reach 800 career rebounds with one more board in her next game against Alabama State. Her personal bests include scoring 24 points and grabbing 18 rebounds in a single game, both achieved against the Bulldogs in 2024.

This season, Belton is averaging 7.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. She has reached double digits in points eight times, with a season-high of 18 points against Bethune-Cookman last weekend, and recorded four double-doubles.

The award ceremony will be held at the SWAC Game ChangHer Awards Brunch on Thursday, March 12, in Atlanta.

According to the organizers: “The Sixth Woman Award recognizes an outstanding student-athlete whose contributions off the bench exemplify leadership, resilience, discipline, and impact beyond statistics. This distinction honors a player whose presence shifts momentum, strengthens team culture, and reflects the highest standards of SWAC excellence.”
