UAH women’s soccer junior Hadas Morin is set to open up play at the 2022 FISU World University Championship Futsal tournament in Guimarães, Portugal on Monday, July 18 representing her home country of Israel.
Israel is a member of Group A at the tournament along with the national teams of Argentina, and the tournament hosts, Portugal.
The competition runs July 18-24, consists of 11 countries on the women’s side, and runs simultaneously with the men’s tournament.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for [Hadas] as an individual, and also for her country to play in a prestigious tournament like this” head coach James Ballamy stated.
Israel will begin its tournament run with a match against Portugal on Monday, July 18 before taking on Argentina the following day.
Morin spent two seasons at the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. before arriving in Huntsville in the spring of 2022, and this fall will be her first full season in the Blue & White.
“I’m very excited and honored for the opportunity to play in such a big tournament and to represent my country, Israel. I know that we’ll be underdogs, but I fully believe in my teammates and I hope that we’ll have a good tournament” Morin stated.
