Cost of college went up for all students at Oakwood University

Tuition and fees rose 18 percent for 2018-19 at Oakwood University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Alabama students paid $19,732 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $3,012 more than the $16,720 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 351 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.7 million and 240 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.6 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,636), 1,458 students used grants or scholarships totaling $11.6 million, and 1,145 students took out $7.6 million in federal student loans.
