Springtime in Madison means the air is a buzz with excitement as the anticipated start of baseball season is officially underway! The first homestand of the season came to a close for the Rocket City Trash Pandas, and the City of Madison celebrates a “home run” partnership with Ballcorps.
“The joy was palpable in Toyota Field for opening night!” Says Mayor Paul Finley. “The experience of seeing our community come together and enjoy the game gives me so much pride for Madison. The Trash Panda team continues to be positive community partners as their work truly brings a great quality of life to our residents.”
The 2022 season will be packed with 69 home games and crowds to fill the seats. Even through a successful 2021 first season, the pandemic did limit the Trash Pandas to only 48 home games. However, that did not stop the Trash Panda’s success. The team still broke records and led Double-A attendance while ranking Top 10 in all of Minor League Baseball. Toyota Field hosted full crowds with nearly 275,000 fans throughout the season. The Trash Pandas reported over $1.2 million in revenue paid to the City of Madison for the 2021 fiscal year.
