Of the 50,717 people living in Madison city in 2020, 50.9 percent (25,821) were women and 49.1 percent (24,896) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Huntsville Leader.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 515. In the 65 and over age range, there were 3,754 females and 2,698 males.
