The Gulf South Conference announced its final All-Sports Trophy standings for the 2021-22 academic year, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville has turned in a third-place finish among the league's 13 full-time members.

UAH finished second in the men's All-Sports Trophy rankings and fifth in the women's ratings.

"To finish second in the overall All-Sports Trophy standings speaks volumes about our student-athletes and coaches," said UAH Director of Athletics Dr. Cade Smith. "I could not be more proud of the effort of all of those involved that helped us compete this year, and to have such great success only makes that effort so much more worthwhile."

The women's and men's numbers are calculated by giving a 75 percent weight to the regular season finish and a 25 percent weight to the tournament finish. Basketball counts for each school followed by the top three next highest finishes for each sport by each school. The overall number calculates all the sports a school sponsors.

On the women's side, cross country earned the biggest number at 11.0 followed by volleyball which scored at 9.625, and softball logged a 9.25 to go along with lacrosse's 6.25 to lead the Chargers to a total of 39.5 points to rank fifth.

On the men's side, it was GSC champion cross country who led the way with a 12 followed closely by the basketball team which scored 9.125 points. Baseball earned 7.5 points, while the outdoor track and field – who also won the GSC championship – garnered 7.0 points to give UAH a 40.625 total.

Across all sports, UAH totaled 97.125 points which ranked third behind Lee (142) and West Florida (111.375).
