Event Description:

The Athens-Limestone Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce to bring our members a 5-session series covering relevant HR related topics. These sessions will address challenges businesses may be facing from a people management and retention perspective.

May 12: Employment Law Update

Workplace changes required by COVID-19 are causing ongoing legal issues for employers. This session will provide employers with an update on the latest issues in employment law and strategies for addressing those issues as they arise.

June 9: Recruiting Tactics To Get You the People You Need

Recruiting is very competitive. Most of us are no longer in the position to wait for candidates to find us, we must go out and find candidates. This session will cover ways you can engage with candidates and ways to improve your recruitment marketing efforts in a way that leverages what makes you a unique employer.

July 14: Retention Best Practices to Keep Your Workforce Engaged

A competitive recruiting market means that your employees are likely being targeted by recruiters right now. Your best defense for keeping your employees is creating an engaging environment that they are happy to be part of. This session covers ways that HR and Management can have a positive impact on retention without busting the budget.

August 11: Creating and Implementing Inclusive Policies

As legislation, our employees needs/wants, and our customers change -- our policies must keep up, but actually updating our policies is a mundane task that often gets pushed to the side while your HR team focuses on more immediate demands. This session shows you a few simple steps to assess your existing policies for inclusivity and how you can update them to reflect the current work environment.

September 8: Compensation & Benefits

A lot of us have found that an hourly rate or salary is not the only resource to convince an employee to join our team. This session facilitates discussion on some creative ways to offer benefits to your employees that make a difference.
