UAH Combines for 44 All-South Region Honorees

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its all-region honorees for the 2022 outdoor season, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by 26 All-South Region honorees on the men's side and 18 on the women's.

 

UAH's men's All-South Region honorees included Wilson McClain (4x100 meter, 110-meter hurdles), Grayson Russell (4x100 meter), Michael Gizzi (4x100 meter, 200 meters, 100 meters), Justin Bensinger (shot put, hammer), Jacob Bishop (3000 meter steeplechase), James Cain (3000 meter steeplechase), Cameron Clark (4x100 meter, long jump), Miguel Cortes (javelin), Jay Day (5000 meters, 3000 meter steeplechase), Zach Hancock (shot put, discus, hammer), Alex Herbst (10,000 meters), Garrison Hill (pole vault), Alex Howard (shot put, discus), Trey McFarland (decathlon), Stephen Tanner (shot put), Sam Wilhelm (10,000 meters), and Evans Wright (hammer).

 

The Chargers women's all-region awardees included Chelsie Burnett (4x100 meter), Sylvia Cortes (4x400 meter), Zakiria Holifield (4x100 meter, 4x400 meter, 100 meters, 200 meters), Erin Cannon (4x400 meter), Chandler Robinson (4x100 meter), Nikki Mata (4x400 meter), Krystalynn Oatman (4x100 meter, 100 meters), Jordan Bailey (triple jump), Emee Baldwin (pole vault), Lauren Hamm (pole vault), Katie Long (javelin), and Ronni VanZant (heptathlon, 100 meters).

 

The USTFCCCA honors individuals as all-region who finish in the top five of each event within their region in addition to each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team.
