The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team opens up the 2022 campaign at Charger Park on Thursday at 5 p.m. against visiting Trevecca Nazarene.
Admission for Thursday's match – and to all regular season events at Charger Park – is free courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.
The Chargers have a total of 17 games on the schedule for the 2022 season, including seven home contests that starts with the first nonconference matchup of the year on Thursday against TNU.
UAH is coming off a 2021 season in which the squad went 6-7-3 overall and 4-6-2 in Gulf South Conference play, as a total of 20 players from last season's squad.
Laura Hasani leads all UAH returners with eight points on four goals last season, followed by Carmen Endicott (1g-4a) and Helena Gonzalez (3g-0a) both with six points.
Adriana Wright returns for her senior campaign, after making 12 starts as the Chargers goalie in the 2021 season with a .99 goals against average and a .836 save percentage on 61 saves.
Trevecca Nazarene will also be playing in its first game of the season on Thursday, following the Trojans' 9-7-4 record last season that included an 8-4-2 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
The Trojans boast two returners that accumulated 16 points last season, including Katelyn Keogh (7g-2a) and Abbigail Legg (6g-4a).
After this Thursday's home-opening action, UAH looks ahead to a Sept. 1 matchup at Tampa for the first road contest of the season.
