UAH Edged in Nonconference Matchup at Florida Southern

The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team was edged 3-2 in nonconference action at Florida Southern on Friday night. UAH slips to 0-3-0, while FSC improves to 2-1-0.

After 25-plus minutes of scoreless action on Friday night preceded by a three-hour lightning delay, UAH took the lead on a successful penalty kick by Shalev Keter for his first goal of the season in the 27th minute.

UAH took the 1-0 advantage into halftime, but Florida Southern came out of the break to score in the 49th minute and 58th minute with goals from Henri Tophoven.

The Chargers evened the match at 2-2 with another successful penalty kick off Aaron Chavez in the 74th minute. FSC responded quickly in the 79th minute on another marker by Tophoven, and the hosts would hold on for the 3-2 win.

UAH generated four shots on goal in the contest, and tied with FSC with six corner kicks apiece as a team.
