The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team is set to start Gulf South Conference play for the 2022 season at home with matches at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall against West Alabama on Friday and Mississippi College on Saturday.

UAH enters the weekend with a 4-7 overall record in the 2022 campaign, as the squad wrapped up its 11-match road swing to start the year with a 3-1 loss at Harding on Saturday to finish play at the Harding Invitational.
Both Zharia Hubbard and Shayla Libby were named to the Harding Invitational All-Tournament Team for their efforts last weekend.
Hubbard and Libby have been UAH's defensive leaders in the 2022 season, with Hubbard leading the conference with 1.16 blocks per set and Libby rating fourth in the GSC with 4.08 digs per set.
Offensively, UAH features three players with 70 kills or more and averages of two kills or more per set including Caroline Moyer (91 kills, 2.68 K/S), Gracie McGee (86 kills, 2.53 K/S), and Paris Morris (74 kills, 2.46 K/S).
Colby Charland has been the Chargers leading setter with 256 total assists for 7.31 assists per set, which ranks sixth in the GSC entering the weekend.
West Alabama enters the Friday matchup at Spragins Hall with a 5-8 overall record and a 0-1 mark in GSC play, after most recently falling to Union at home in four sets on Tuesday. The Tigers offense is led by a pair of players with 90 kills or more in Madison Fisher and Ally Craig, while Mackenzie Wells paces the defense with 167 total digs.
Mississippi College boasts a 10-0 record with a 1-0 GSC record to start the weekend, as the Choctaws most recently topped Christian Brothers by a 3-1 score on Tuesday. MC's offense is led by Lydia Paulette and Caroline Chastang with over 100 kills each, while Missy Beber's 127 digs paces the defense.
UAH holds all-time series records of 43-29 against West Alabama and 18-5 against Mississippi College.
After this weekend's start to GSC play, UAH looks ahead to road matches next weekend at Lee on Friday and Montevallo on Saturday.
