NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Alabama A&M women's basketball team fell on the road at Vanderbilt on Wednesday afternoon, 76-46.

The Lady Bulldogs fall to 1-8, 0-0 SWAC, while the Commodores improve to 9-5, 0-0 SEC.

Turning Point
Alabama A&M trailed by only six points (20-14) after the quarter but allowed Vanderbilt to go on a 9-0 run to close out the half giving VU a 38-22 lead going into the locker rooms.

Individual Leaders
Transfer Amani Free (Clay, N.Y,) had a team-high 15 points for AAMU, while sophomore guard Amiah Simmons (Osawatomie, Kan.) finished with 11 points and two assist on the day.

The Commordores were led by Sacha Washington who finished with a game-high 23 points.

> Alabama A&M shot 37.5 percent from the field going 15-of-40
> Vanderbilt was 41.7 percent from the floor connecting on 25-of-60 shots
> The Lady Bulldogs hauled down 29 rebounds with 6 coming on the offensive end
> The Commodores snatched 35 rebounds, 14 of them being offensive
> AAMU connected on 11-of-17 free-throws while VU shot 23-of-25 from the charity stripe
> Vandy held a 31-12 advantage on points-off-turnovers

Stat of the Game
Vanderbilt held a 13-1 advantage on second chance points.

The Lady Bulldogs close out their 2022 portion of the schedule on Thursday, December 29th as they travel to Conway, Ark. to face Central Arkansas. Tip Off is set for 1 p.m.
