Three Program Records Fall for UAH at Vanderbilt Invitational | University of Alabama in Huntsville Athletic Department

The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's track & field teams continued the 2023 indoor campaign at the Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday and Saturday with the teams combining for three program records and four NCAA provisional marks.

 
Notable Performances
-Hannah Gant reset the program record in the weight throw with an eight-place throw of 16.85 meters. She tops the previous record which she set at 16.10 in last season's KMS Invitational.
-A week after tying the program record in the pole vault for the second time in her career, Ann Hampton stands alone with a height of 3.45 meters for 13th place overall in the pole vault.
-Jeremiah McCain shattered the program record in the 400-meter race with a fourth-place time of 47.49. He breaks the previous record of 48.77 set by Trevian Jenkins in 2019, and he additionally tops the NCAA provisional standard of 48.59 in the event.
-Michael Gizzi topped the NCAA provisional time twice in 60-meter prelims and in the finals round as well, as he generated a time of 6.83 in prelims and 6.85 in the finals. He finished fifth overall in the final round.
-Wilson McClain finished fourth overall in the 60-meter hurdles finals with an NCAA provisional time of 8.08. His top time of the day in the event came in prelims at 8.05.
