The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team will play host to Miles on Wednesday afternoon in a midweek matchup scheduled for 1 p.m. The matchup marks the second time the teams have met this season, with UAH taking the first game 6-5 on February 14.

Admission for this week's game – and to all regular season events at Charger Park – is free again this season courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The Chargers are looking to extend a three-game win streak after sweeping West Florida over the weekend to improve to 12-11 overall and a 5-4 Gulf South Conference record. The UAH bats were lively in the weekend slate, scoring 22 runs against the Argos. 

Junior Carson Villalta enters Wednesday's game coming off of a GSC Player of the Week award after going 10-14 with 12 RBI last week with his first home run of the season. The Florence, Alabama, native is batting .335 on the year with 26 RBI. 

UAH enters the week with the third-highest batting average in the GSC at .306, while also holding the third-ranked on-base percentage at .405.

Miles visits Huntsville after going 1-1 in a weekend series with Kentucky State. The third game of the series was postponed due to weather conditions in Frankfort, Kentucky. The Golden Bears are 10-10 on the season and hold a 7-4 record in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Brandon Leroy leads the Miles offense with eight doubles, two home runs, and a .319 batting average with 20 RBI on the year.  

The pitching staff for the Golden Bears is led by Kaleb Allen who boasts a 2.10 ERA and a 4-2 record for the season in 34.1 innings pitched. 

UAH holds an all-time record of 26-3 against Miles and have won three of the last four matchups. 

Following the midweek matchup, the Chargers head to Rome, Georgia, to take on GSC foe Shorter.
