WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Dale Strong (AL-05) has expressed his support for the passage of the Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, Strong emphasized the importance of the NDAA in authorizing funding for every aspect of the United States military.

In a statement, Strong highlighted the key provisions of this year's NDAA, stating that it "ensures that U.S. military readiness remains at the highest level, combats aggression by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), guts the Biden Administration's woke policies & DEI bureaucracy, and increases oversight of U.S. taxpayer dollars to minimize waste."

Moreover, Strong underscored the significance of the bill for North Alabama, stating that it "makes significant investments in North Alabama and is yet another example of the importance of the region to U.S. national security." He emphasized his commitment to fighting for the people of Alabama's Fifth District and ensuring that the nation is made safer by North Alabama.

The NDAA passed the House with a vote of 310 - 118 and the Senate with a vote of 87 - 13. It now awaits the President's signature. Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL) commended Strong for his work on this legislation, stating that Strong has "fought tirelessly for our national security and Alabama." Rogers praised Strong's dedication and leadership in holding the Biden Administration accountable and resisting their attempts to inject politics into the Space Command basing decision.

North Alabama stands to benefit significantly from the NDAA, with over $500 million in funding authorizations allocated for research, development, and the continued improvement of Redstone Arsenal. This investment underscores the importance of the region to U.S. national security.

Additionally, Strong championed a provision in the NDAA regarding the U.S. Space Command headquarters. This provision prevents further construction at the headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO until the completion of two independent investigations. Strong's efforts demonstrate his commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in decision-making processes.

Furthermore, the NDAA includes Strong's FINISH IT Act, which requires the Department of Defense to provide unused border wall materials currently rusting in storage to border states for their use. This provision aims to address border security concerns by repurposing existing resources.

In conclusion, Representative Dale Strong's support for the Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act reflects his commitment to national security and the interests of Alabama's Fifth District. The bill's provisions not only enhance military readiness but also make significant investments in North Alabama. Strong's dedication and leadership in advocating for the region are commendable, and his efforts have been recognized by Chairman Mike Rogers.
