WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Dale W. Strong voiced his strong opposition to the final six Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations bills, voting against them in the House. Following the vote, Strong issued a statement criticizing the bill for its content and process.
In his statement, Strong accused Chuck Schumer and President Biden of disregarding the will of the American people by removing provisions aimed at securing the southern border and addressing the illegal immigration crisis. He also criticized the inclusion of earmarks that he believed supported the Democrats' "radical left agenda," citing funding for abortion facilities, LGBTQ indoctrination, and benefits for illegal immigrants.
Furthermore, Strong highlighted a broken promise by the Republicans to change the way legislation is handled in Washington. He expressed disappointment that the bill did not adhere to the commitment of providing a 72-hour review period for legislation and eliminating reckless spending that promotes a liberal social agenda.
The opposition from Representative Strong underscores the deep divide and contentious nature of the current political landscape surrounding fiscal matters and social issues in the United States.
