75 coaches at institutions in Madison County earned $57,001 on average in 2022

Madison County’s 75 coaches earned an average salary of $57,001 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 11th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Alabama post-secondary schools during 2022.

Madison County is home to three post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, University of Alabama in Huntsville stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $65,950.

Male coaches of men's teams received $61,363 on average in Madison County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $46,358.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
