Representative Dale W. Strong (R-AL) and House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) have announced the relaunch of the Army Aviation Caucus for the 119th Congress. This bipartisan caucus, originally established in 2011, aims to support the needs of Army Aviation.
"From Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville to Fort Novosel in Enterprise, and more, the success of America’s aviators depends on Alabama. It is fitting that my first caucus leadership role is championing a topic so near and dear to Alabamians’ hearts," said Congressman Strong. He emphasized that the caucus will focus on advocating for advanced capabilities and readiness for UAVs, traditional fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, and next-generation vertical lift.
Strong highlighted Alabama's significant role in military aviation as it hosts several key commands at Redstone Arsenal, including U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, PEO Aviation, and the Future Vertical Lift Cross-Functional Team.
Representative DeLauro expressed her commitment to advocating for critical funding for military aviation programs. "I am glad to serve again as co-chair alongside Congressman Strong as we relaunch the bipartisan Army Aviation Caucus," she stated. She noted that her district plays an essential role in the military aviation supply chain by building advanced helicopters.
DeLauro acknowledged the defense aviation sector's impact across the country by employing thousands of Americans and ensuring military effectiveness. She praised Congressman Strong's consistent advocacy for Army aviation and stressed that investing in this sector remains a bipartisan priority for Congress.
