Representative Dale W. Strong of Alabama has reintroduced several legislative measures aimed at enhancing national security and addressing foreign interference in the United States. As a member of the Committee on Homeland Security, Rep. Strong is advocating for these bills to address various threats, including those posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), illegal immigrant voting, and potential terrorist attacks.

Among the proposed legislation is the DHS Biodetection Improvement Act, which aims to strengthen U.S. biodefense capabilities. This act would ensure that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) can effectively combat bioterrorism threats through improved information sharing and technological upgrades. "The anthrax attacks of 2001 opened our eyes to a new threat landscape that included acts of bioterrorism," said Strong.

Another bill, the SHIELD Against CCP Act, seeks to establish a dedicated DHS working group focused on countering threats from the CCP. This group would be tasked with examining nontraditional tactics used by China and assessing DHS efforts to mitigate these activities. "China is one of the biggest threats to our country," Strong noted.

Additionally, Rep. Strong has introduced legislation for a National Training Center for Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems. This program would train personnel in operating counter-UAS detection and mitigation systems to protect against credible threats posed by UAS technology.

Lastly, the Deport Illegal Voters Act aims to expedite deportation processes for individuals convicted of illegal voting by classifying such actions as an aggravated felony. "Anyone who is not an American citizen and casts a ballot in our elections should be first in line to be deported," stated Strong.

Rep. Strong emphasizes that these measures are part of a proactive approach to safeguard national security and maintain electoral integrity in collaboration with his colleagues on both sides of the aisle.
