Coach Tommy Tuberville, U.S. Senator from Alabama, posted a series of statements on social media addressing his views on Islamist extremism and criticizing Senate Democrats’ approach to national security funding.
On March 12, 2026, Tuberville wrote: “I don’t give a rip about being politically correct. Innocent Americans are being gunned down in the streets almost daily by Radical Islamists whose ‘religion’ teaches them it’s righteous to kill Christians. I won’t be silenced about this.”
Later that evening, he followed up with another post clarifying his earlier statement: “To be clear, I didn’t “suggest” Islamists are the enemy. I said it plainly.”
The next day, on March 13, Tuberville continued his commentary by questioning legislative priorities: “How many Jihadist terrorist attacks on American soil will it take for Senate Democrats to wake up and fund DHS???”
Tuberville’s background includes a career as a college football coach prior to entering politics, according to his official website. As Senator, he represents the state of Alabama with offices in several cities including Mobile, Huntsville, Hoover, Montgomery, and Dothan. His policy focus areas include agriculture and rural prosperity, border security, national defense, education initiatives such as protecting student-athletes, and workforce development. Tuberville holds key legislative roles in committees related to armed services—where he chairs the Subcommittee on Personnel—as well as agriculture and veterans’ affairs.
