U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, who represents Alabama and is a former college football coach, made several statements on social media this week addressing issues ranging from women’s sports to child care oversight and religious faith.
On January 17, 2026, Tuberville posted his support for what he described as “pro-women’s sports PATRIOTS” outside the Supreme Court. He wrote: “This week, I was proud to join the pro-women’s sports PATRIOTS outside the Supreme Court to stand for basic biology and COMMON SENSE. NO MEN IN WOMEN’S SPORTS, SHOWERS, OR LOCKER ROOMS.”
Later that day, Tuberville addressed concerns regarding alleged fraud in Minnesota’s child care system. In a tweet posted at 22:26 UTC, he stated: “Taxpayer-funded, Somalian-run ‘child care centers’ in Minnesota are one of the BIGGEST SCANDALS in American taxpayer history. And @GovTimWalz is 100% responsible. Congress must pass the “Stop Fraud by SOMALIA Act” to ensure taxpayers will never have to foot the bill for”
The following day, on January 18, Tuberville shared a brief message referencing his religious beliefs: “Christ is King. We must never forget that.”
Tuberville serves Alabama in the U.S. Senate and brings experience from his previous career as a college football coach. He currently sits on committees related to armed services, agriculture and veterans affairs and provides constituent services through his official office (official website).
