The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Chloe Wood has been selected as the GSC Player of the Week while Sarah Cole has been selected as the GSC Freshman Player of the Week.

This is the first career GSC weekly honorees for both Wood and Cole.

Wood elevated to double digit goals for the season with a four goal outing against No. 3 Florida Southern on Sunday at Charger Park. The Sherwood Park, Alberta, native also notched four draw controls while leading the Chargers in shots with seven and six shots on goal. She also recorded the most ground balls, reeling in three on the day. The graduate student leads UAH in ground balls this season with 20 overall.
 
Cole received honors after a nine draw control showing against the Mocs. The freshman from Louisville, Kentucky, recorded the second-most goals for the game, tallying three on the day. She leads the Chargers in draw controls for the season with 25, while tied for fifth in the statistic in the GSC. 
 
The Chargers get back in action on Friday when they host Saint Leo at Charger Park. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
