WASHINGTON— Congressman Dale W. Strong will be hosting Military Service and Academy Day on June 24th for area students who want to learn more about attending one of the United States military academies after high school.

"The desire of young men and women to willingly serve in our nation's Armed Forces embodies the very essence of American greatness. It is my honor to nominate incredible student leaders across North Alabama to attend our prestigious U.S. service academies. I want to ensure each student interested in defending our great nation in uniform is aware of the many avenues to military service,” says Representative Dale W. Strong.

This year’s Academy Day will take place on Saturday, June 24th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Sparkman Highschool Gymnasium. The event will include academy representatives from West Point, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy, and the Marine Merchant Academy; recruiters with the Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force/Space Force, and the Coast Guard; and representatives from various ROTC Programs from across the state.

To attend an Academy, students must meet certain eligibility requirements and receive a nomination. More information on the nomination process will be provided at the event. Students interested in being nominated are encouraged to attend Strong Academy Day.
