Representative Dale W. Strong has secured $120,000 in funding through community project funding in the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations package for the Scottsboro Police Department. The funding will enable the department to replace aging patrol vehicles.

"This investment ensures our officers have the reliable equipment they need to protect and serve their community," said Representative Strong. He emphasized the importance of supporting law enforcement to maintain safety in North Alabama.

With the funding, the Scottsboro Police Department has acquired two fully equipped Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles. These vehicles will assist officers in investigating crimes of all levels with improved equipment.

"We would like to thank Congressman Dale Strong and his office for allowing the Scottsboro Police Department the opportunity to apply for and obtain federal dollars through his office," stated Scottsboro Police Lieutenant Coty Durham. "With the funding from Congressman Strong, the Scottsboro Police Department was able to purchase new patrol vehicles in order to better serve our citizens!"
