AUBURN, Ala.- The Auburn Public Library is expanding its collection at APL@Boykin with the help of a grant from the Alabama Public Library Service (APLS).

The library recently received a Library Services and Technology Act grant, an APLS grant funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The $15,000 collection development grant has been used to purchase over 1,200 items for APL@Boykin, the micro-library extension of the Auburn Public Library located at the Boykin Community Center (400 Boykin St.). With the addition of these materials, APL@Boykin's collection has increased to over 1,600 items including fiction, non-fiction, large print, children's books and more.

The micro-library is powered by a self-checkout kiosk and is available during the Boykin Community Center’s regular hours. In addition to serving residents, the micro-library collection serves agencies located at the Boykin Community Center including Auburn Day Care Center, Joyland Child Development Center, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lee County-Auburn Unit and Auburn Senior Center.

The Auburn Public Library was established in 1947 to serve the residents of Auburn, Alabama. Today, the Auburn Public Library provides residents with a collection that reflects the diverse and dynamic interests of our community, with access to public technology and information resources, and with programs and activities that contribute to an engaged, literate and informed society. The Auburn Public Library is located at 749 E. Thach Ave. APL@Boykin is located at the Boykin Community Center (400 Boykin St.).
