Congressman Dale W. Strong from Alabama's 5th district has announced his nomination of 30 students from North Alabama to United States service academies. These students have met rigorous academic, leadership, and character standards to be considered for the nominations. The nominees come from various educational backgrounds, including public, private, specialty, and homeschooling.

"I applaud these young men and women for their willingness to lead the next generation of our nation's Armed Forces," said Congressman Strong. "As foreign adversaries across the globe threaten our national security, patriotic student leaders across North Alabama are answering the call to service. It is my honor to nominate these incredible students to attend our prestigious U.S. service academies, and I know they will represent the Tennessee Valley with dignity."

The nominees for the class of 2028 are divided among three U.S. service academies. The United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy, and United States Air Force Academy have received nominations from Congressman Strong.

Among the nominees to the United States Military Academy are Charles Grigsby and Jaden Johnson from Huntsville's Grissom High School. Other nominees include Kricket Johnston and Nicholas Lozano from Bob Jones High School in Madison, Jonathan McDonald from Covenant Christian Academy in New Market, and several others.

The United States Naval Academy has received nominations for Jackson Angiulli from Priceville High School in Priceville, Averiel Brininger from St. John Paul II Catholic High School in Huntsville, and Thomas Fleming from Fleming Home School Academy in Huntsville, among others.

For the United States Air Force Academy, nominations have been made for Sarah Brock from Whitesburg Christian Academy in New Market, Shepard Howley from Acellus Academy in Hampton Cove, and Logan Jackson from Bob Jones High School in Madison, along with several others.

These students have shown exceptional leadership qualities and dedication, which have earned them the opportunity to attend these prestigious institutions.

Students interested in applying for a nomination to a U.S. service academy through Congressman Strong can find more information on his official website or contact the Huntsville district office at 256-551-0190.
