Representative Dale W. Strong has successfully secured significant funding for North Alabama in the recently passed Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations package. The $18.5 million allocation aims to enhance critical infrastructure and public safety across the region.

In a statement, Representative Strong expressed his pride in returning taxpayer dollars to Alabama’s Fifth District, emphasizing the direct impact these funds will have on improving the lives of constituents. He highlighted the importance of investing in local communities, stating, "Our hard-earned tax dollars are best put to use by local leaders who understand the needs of their communities. I am fighting every day in Congress to improve life for all North Alabamians."

The funding secured by Representative Strong includes over $14 million for transportation infrastructure projects in North Alabama. These projects aim to improve roadway safety and support continued growth in the region. Key initiatives include the completion of the Huntsville Northern Bypass project, additional lanes on U.S. Highway 72, and improvements on Bethel Road in Limestone County.

Moreover, the Pryor Field Regional Airport in Tanner will receive $3.2 million for Southeast Taxiway Enhancements to bolster economic growth in the surrounding communities.

In addition to transportation projects, over $2.6 million has been allocated for local law enforcement agencies to purchase equipment and make upgrades to meet evolving public safety needs. This includes funding for patrol vehicles, public safety equipment, ballistic vests, radios, and jail camera improvements across various departments in the region.

Furthermore, the City of Priceville will benefit from $1.75 million to design and construct a new sewer pump station and gravity main to address capacity challenges due to rapid growth.

Representative Strong's efforts in securing these funds underscore his commitment to improving the quality of life and safety for residents of North Alabama.
