The U.S. House of Representatives has unanimously passed a bipartisan bill introduced by Congressman Dale W. Strong aimed at reorganizing the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. The legislation, known as H.R. 7177, seeks to redraw divisional boundaries and assign counties to divisions with the nearest courthouse.

This change is intended to ensure that residents are assigned to the closest federal courthouse, thereby reducing unnecessary travel expenses. Congressman Strong emphasized his commitment to improving constituents' lives through this initiative: “I will always look for ways to improve the lives of my constituents. That includes ensuring they are assigned to the federal courthouse nearest them to have their cases heard or to fulfill their civic duty and serve on a jury."

Strong expressed satisfaction with the support from his colleagues in promoting efficient justice administration in North Alabama.
