As the 118th Congress concludes, Congressman Dale W. Strong has provided an update on his efforts for North Alabama over the past year. "When the people of North Alabama sent me to Congress, I knew I wanted to focus on reforming how Washington does business for people," said Strong. He noted that his office assisted nearly 1,200 constituents with issues like delayed tax returns and VA claim denials.
Strong highlighted a legislative agenda aimed at supporting veterans and seniors, securing borders, protecting the homeland, and enhancing government efficiency. "In 2025, with President Trump returning to the White House and Republicans proposing a low-tax, pro-growth agenda, I am looking forward to working hard to make life a little easier for working families across the Tennessee Valley," he added.
Throughout 2024, Strong's office served 1,172 constituents through various casework issues with federal agencies and secured over $3.01 million in benefits for AL-05 residents. His team also engaged extensively with local businesses and officials across the district.
Among key legislative achievements was H.R. 7177 to improve U.S. District Court organization in Northern Alabama. Other bills included measures to enhance biodefense capabilities (H.R. 6174), counter threats from the Chinese Communist Party (H.R. 9668), and bolster drone defense (H.R. 8590).
Strong emphasized efforts to secure energy resources through H.R. 9710 for Small Modular Reactors development and amendments ensuring North Alabama's role in space exploration programs.
Defending national security was another priority; Strong played a role in funding military projects in North Alabama via the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). He advocated for military pay raises and support programs within the FY25 NDAA.
Regarding U.S. Space Command's headquarters location decision, Strong stated: "I refuse to sit back and allow such a blatantly political decision to put our national security and key space programs at risk." He supported investigations into President Biden's decision against Huntsville as USSPACECOM's site.
Strong also focused on veteran support through legislation like H.R. 8140 for Veterans Response Teams grants and addressing VA service shortfalls affecting local veterans.
Economically, he voted for measures aimed at reducing costs for American families while advocating for substantial investments back into North Alabama infrastructure projects.
